Bachelor in Counselling with Honours
(UW-6-762-002)

The programme of study is designed to provide a comprehensive education, combining formal classes with extensive supervised practicum and internship experiences, which serve as a pathway to postgraduate programmes. The curriculum features courses from the departments of Counselling, Cognitive Science, Human Resource, and Language, with additional elective options available from other faculties within the university. The Counselling programme is open to individuals interested in pursuing careers in supportive environments.

In addition to the teaching faculty, numerous distinguished professionals from across Malaysia contribute to the training programmes. Internship opportunities are available both on and off campus, including placements in public and private agencies, community-based counselling centres, and mental health organizations.

Accreditation is a key focus for the Department of Counselling, ensuring that graduates of the programme are eligible for full certification and licensure in their respective fields. The BSc (Hons.) in the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development is fully accredited by the Malaysian Counsellor Board (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia). This degree programme achieved full accreditation on its first application in 2001 and has maintained this status since then.

This multidisciplinary programme is designed to produce graduates with a deep understanding of multimedia computing technology, along with the skills to develop a wide range of multimedia applications and tools. Students will also acquire critical and creative thinking abilities.
