WELCOMING REMARKS FROM THE HONORABLE DEAN

Welcome to the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), a vibrant and dynamic institution that is committed to providing a world-class education to our students. As the Dean of this esteemed Faculty, I am excited to share with you our new direction, which is focused on providing a flexible education that is tailored to the current needs of our students and society. We have also developed a research ecosystem that is conducive to producing cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges facing our society today.

Our Faculty is the backbone of our institution, and we are proud of their dedication to providing a world-class education to our students. Our new direction is focused on providing a flexible education that suits the current needs of our students. We recognize that the traditional model of education is no longer sufficient in preparing students for the complex challenges of the 21st century. Our Faculty is committed to using a variety of teaching methodologies that cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of our students. This flexible approach to education allows our students to pursue their passions and interests while developing the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen careers.

In addition to providing a flexible education, we are committed to the development of our students into well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen careers. We have developed a range of co-curricular activities that are designed to enhance our students' overall development. These activities include internships, community service, and leadership programs, among others. We believe that these activities are essential in developing the resilience and adaptability of our students.

Our alumni are an integral part of our community, and we value their ongoing support and contribution. We have developed a range of programs and initiatives that are designed to engage our alumni and keep them connected to our community. These initiatives include networking events, mentorship programs, and alumni chapters. We believe that by maintaining good relationships with our alumni, we can create a vibrant and dynamic community that is committed to the development of our students.  They are also a vital source of funding for our institution, and we are grateful for their ongoing support.

At UNIMAS, we are committed to engaging with the wider community and industry partners to ensure that our research and education are responsive to the needs of society. We recognize that it is essential to collaborate with industry partners to ensure that our programs are relevant and responsive to the needs of the workforce. We also believe that it is important to engage with the wider community to ensure that our research and education are responsive to the needs of society. We have established a range of partnerships with industry and community organizations that are designed to facilitate collaboration and ensure that our research and education are responsive to the needs of society.

Finally, the core value of UNIMAS is ExCITE, which stands for Exemplary, Collegiality, Integrity, Tenacity and Equity. These values are embedded in everything we do at UNIMAS, from our teaching and research to our engagement with the wider community. We believe that by embracing these values, we can create a vibrant and dynamic community that is committed to the development of our students and the wider society.

In conclusion, I am excited about the new direction that our institution is taking.
